Depends on the stuff you do, but I have both and use the dividing head about 5-10X the amount I use the rotary table. The dividing head can be rotated vertical and the lathe chuck attached, with the lathe work still in it. IMO, the rotary table is always a pain to set up, locate center, then somehow clamp the work where you need it.
