Re: Lincoln Ranger 8 Problems welding on auto idle mode. Sounds like the low idle is way too low. Unit isn't sensing enough load that low when attempting to strike an arc. Should be 2150-2250rpm. If you don't have a photo or handheld tachometer you can use a Kill-A-Watt meter set to Hz to determine proper engine speeds.
